Kachkolar kofta with purti soyalite refined soybean oil

Embark on a culinary journey with the enticing flavors of Bengali cuisine. These Kachkolar Koftas, crafted with raw bananas and aromatic spices, offer a delectable vegetarian alternative. Fry them to golden perfection using Purti Soyalite Refined Soybean Oil, enhancing both health and taste.

 

Ingredients:

– 3 raw bananas (kachkola)

– 1 cup paneer (grated)

– 1/2 cup khoya (optional)

-1/4 cup besan (gram flour)

-1 large onion (finely chopped)

-2 tomatoes (pureed)

-1/2 cup cashew nuts (soaked)

-2 green chilies (finely chopped)

-1 tablespoon ginger-garlic paste

-1/2 teaspoon turmeric powder

-1 teaspoon red chili powder

-1 teaspoon garam masala

-Salt to taste

-Fresh coriander leaves (for garnish)

-Purti Soyalite Refined Soybean Oil for frying

Instructions:

Step 1: Preparing Kofta Mixture

-Boil raw bananas until soft. Peel and mash them in a large bowl.

-Add grated paneer, besan, khoya (if using), green chilies, ginger-garlic paste, salt, and mix well.

-Shape the mixture into small, round koftas. Ensure they are evenly sized for consistent cooking.

Step 2: Frying Koftas

-Heat Purti Soyalite Refined Soybean Oil in a deep pan for frying.

-Carefully place the koftas into the hot oil and fry until golden brown and crisp.

-Remove excess oil by placing the fried koftas on absorbent paper. Set aside.

Step 3: Preparing Gravy

-In a separate pan, heat Purti Soyalite Refined Soybean Oil. Add chopped onions and sauté until golden brown.

-Add ginger-garlic paste and cook until the raw smell disappears.

-Stir in tomato puree, turmeric powder, red chili powder, and salt. Cook until the oil separates from the masala.

-Grind soaked cashew nuts into a smooth paste and add it to the masala. Cook for a few minutes.

Step 4: Bringing It Together

-Add water to achieve the desired consistency for the gravy.

-Carefully place the fried koftas into the simmering gravy.

-Sprinkle garam masala and let it simmer for 10-15 minutes until the koftas absorb the flavors.

Step 5: Garnish and Serve

-Garnish with fresh coriander leaves.

-Serve hot with steamed rice or Indian bread of your choice.
